Wow, I have not posted on this Blog since 2012. So much has happened since then, which includes other Blogs and other means of sharing ideas. But, I was encouraged recently to start a Blog, or more precisely, video posts, which I actually don't have a desire to do right now as I still find value in the written page.
So, since there is too much to try and catch up on since 2012, here is a brief synopsis:
- Left higher education to pastor a church in 2012.
- Spent 2 years in Detroit (from 2015 - 2017; left our oldest daughter there to continue the work).
- Returned to Texas to try our hand at a multiple of things (learned so much about entrepreneurship, leadership, and professional coaching).
- Ushered our middle daughter Megan home to be with the Lord after a brutal fight with cancer in 2018. The world might say cancer won, we would say Megan won her reward.
- Because of Megan's influence a church plant turned into a beautiful ministry to the homeless of our community which continues on.
- Returned to higher education at WTAMU in 2022.
So, there you go. Now we can move forward each week with leadership ideas focusing on everyday leadership for everyday people like you and me. For now, here's the leadership idea I try to live by every day:
"On the other side of every decision I make, action I take, and word I speak is a real person."
